General Notes


Fast growing, but messy because of fruit and flower litter. Caterpillars are more of a problem back east than in California. Shade tree tolerant of a variety of conditions. Native to Southwestern and Eastern Asia.
     An Albizia julibrissin in Bakersfield is registered as a California Big Tree. It measures 43 feet high, with a trunk circumference of 80 inches and a crown spread of 48 feet.
