GENERAL INFO

Grown only occasionally in Hawai‘i and more commonly in California, this species can be distinguished from the Cook pine (Araucaria columnaris) by its straight, plumb trunk, less columnar, more open canopy, and peeling bark. Araucaria heterophylla has a HPWRA (Hawai‘i Pacific Weed Risk Assessment) score of -5 (Low Risk).
