General Notes

Branches don't droop and resist breakage. Acorns are enclosed in shaggy-looking cups and take two years to mature.

Native to Southern Europe and Asia Minor.

Has Deciduous foliage.

Height: 30 - 50 feet.

Leaves Ovate, Green, Yellow, Deciduous.

Flowers Inconspicuous. Brown. Flowers in Spring. Has separate male and female flowers on the same tree (monoecious).

Brown Acorn, Medium (0.50 - 1.50 inches), fruiting in Fall Wildlife use it.

Bark Gray to White, Furrowed or Ridged.

Shading Capacity Rated as Moderate to Moderately Dense in Leaf.
