General Notes

Underside of leaf is light gray. Leaf drop in spring may seem abnormal, but is typical pattern for the tree. Bark is the source of commercial cork. SelecTree lists no cultivars of suber.
A Quercus suber in Napa is registered as a California Big Tree. It measures 70 feet high, with a trunk circumference of 229 inches and a crown spread of 100 feet for a total of 324 points.
