General Notes

Needs ample water. Resistant to oak root fungus. Several cultivars are commercially available. Has Fragrant Bark and Leaf. SelecTree lists 4 cultivars of sempervirens:  (1)'aptos blue'  (2)'los altos'  (3)'santa cruz'  (4)'soquel'
A Sequoia sempervirens in Jedediah Smith State Park is registered as a California Big Tree. It measures 321 feet high, with a trunk circumference of 950 inches and a crown spread of 80 feet for a total of 1291 points.
